Al Shaheed Park, Kuwait City

Al Shaheed Park holds the distinction of being the largest urban park in Kuwait City, encompassing a sprawling 78.5 acres. This park is not only celebrated for its size but also recognized as a pivotal green infrastructure project in Kuwait. One of its most notable features is its inclusion of one of the world's largest overstructure greenroofs.

Located within the newly established Kuwait National Cultural District, Al Shaheed Park is a dynamic blend of nature and culture. It represents a comprehensive cultural complex that showcases contemporary architecture and artistic installations. The park's development has been segmented into various phases to facilitate its growth and expansion. Phase II, which was inaugurated in April 2017, brought with it several new additions, including a skate park, a youth complex, and an open-air performance center. Currently, the park is undergoing further expansion with Phase III, the largest of the phases, which is set to open in January 2024.

Al Shaheed Park's design integrates a variety of gardens and walkways, creating an environment that encourages exploration and leisure. In addition to these natural elements, the park is also home to museums, exhibition spaces, and outdoor theaters, all dedicated to promoting cultural events.

The park has historical zones, including the Memorial and Museum zones. There are two main museums: the Remembrance Museum focuses on key events in Kuwaiti history, and the Habitat Museum explores Kuwait's natural habitats with interactive programs and recreations. Both museums offer audio guides for visitors.
