However, as the hospitality industry evolved and transportation networks expanded, the hotel's role shifted over time.

In 1968, the Alamo Hotel was converted into apartments, marking a new chapter in its storied history. Despite the removal of certain portions of the structure during the renovation process, key architectural elements, such as the south portion and the north tower, were preserved, ensuring that the building's unique identity and historical significance endure for future generations to appreciate.
