Alsancak, Izmir

Alsancak, a neighborhood within the Konak district of İzmir, is a vibrant area that combines the historic essence of the city with modern urban living. Home to a population of 5,581 as of 2022, it forms an integral part of İzmir’s historic center and is a focal point for both locals and visitors.

Historically, Alsancak was known as "La Punta" during the Ottoman era, a name reflecting its past as a prestigious residential zone for the city’s upper middle class. The neighborhood is characterized by its two main streets running parallel to the coast, Birinci Kordon (First Kordon) and İkinci Kordon (Second Kordon), lined with upscale residences, commercial spaces, and office buildings, including several consulates.
