Baku Ferris Wheel, Baku

The Baku Ferris Wheel, also known as the Baku Eye and Devil's Wheel, is a prominent feature of Baku Boulevard in the Seaside National Park of Baku. This Ferris wheel was constructed by the Dutch company, Dutch Wheels, and officially inaugurated on March 10, 2014, by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. It opened to the public on March 12, 2014.

Standing at a height of 60 meters (200 feet), the Baku Ferris Wheel offers expansive views of Baku Bay, Flag Square, Crystal Hall, and the surrounding cityscape. The wheel includes 30 enclosed cabins, with a standard capacity of eight people per cabin. Additionally, there are two VIP cabins designed to accommodate four people each, offering a more exclusive experience.

Each rotation of the wheel takes between 30 to 40 minutes, allowing passengers ample time to enjoy the scenic views. The cabins are equipped with air conditioning and small monitors for entertainment, enhancing the comfort and experience of the riders. Safety is a key focus, with centralized control systems for opening and closing doors and transparent glass constructions covering all the cabins. In case of emergencies, special ladders are provided in each cabin to facilitate the safe evacuation of passengers.

The Baku Ferris Wheel is not only a significant tourist attraction but also an emblem of modern architectural and engineering prowess, enriching the cultural and leisure landscape of Azerbaijan's capital.
