Celebrities Nightclub in Vancouver boasts a storied past that dates back to its inception. Crafted by architect Thomas Hooper in 1908, the edifice initially housed the esteemed Lester Dancing Academy. A transformation into the Embassy in 1933 catapulted it into the limelight as a sought-after dance club. As the 1960s dawned, it underwent a rebirth as Dante’s Inferno, playing host to legendary rock luminaries like The Grateful Dead and The Doors.

With the onset of 1967, a new chapter began with the emergence of the Retinal Circus era. This phase featured performances by icons such as Janis Joplin, The Velvet Underground, and Led Zeppelin. Meanwhile, the basement area evolved into The Elegant Parlour, a haven for rhythm and blues enthusiasts curated by none other than Tommy Chong. The ensuing years of the 1970s ushered in an array of entertainment concepts, even including a stint as a strip club.

Fast forward to 1987, and a transformation took place that solidified its place in the heart of Vancouver's LGBTQ+ community - Celebrities Nightclub was born. The 1990s added a new layer of allure with the introduction of the famed Rehab Friday raver nights. This rich history has indelibly etched Celebrities Nightclub into the affection of its patrons.

The pulse of Celebrities Nightclub's regular nights has been reignited. Industry and student nights light up Tuesdays, while Stereotype Fridays stand out, featuring globetrotting DJs representing a kaleidoscope of musical genres. Saturdays transform into Playhouse nights, predominantly dedicated to the beats of house music. Complementing these offerings is the newly minted subterranean haven, Village Studios, complete with a dance floor and an exciting lineup of three monthly shows.
