Central Park in Jakarta is a large development that includes a shopping mall, an office tower, three residential buildings, and a hotel, altogether covering about 655,000 square meters (around 7,050,000 square feet). This area is situated in the Grogol Petamburan district of West Jakarta and was developed by Agung Podomoro Group as a part of the larger Podomoro City project. It ranks as the 10th largest building globally based on its total floor area.
The complex was officially opened on September 9, 2009. It was built on the site previously designated for the Podomoro City Integrated Mega Projects in West Jakarta. The project was designed by DP Architects from Singapore, with American firms DYXY handling the interior design and Bennit Design Group the landscaping. Total Bangun Persada was the main construction contractor. The complex is named after New York City’s famous Central Park and is located between Mall Taman Anggrek and Mall Ciputra.
Central Park Jakarta features a variety of major tenants in its shopping mall, including the largest SOGO department store in Indonesia, Carrefour Transmart, Gramedia bookstore, as well as fashion retailers like Zara, Topman, Marks & Spencer, Hugo Boss, and Bershka. The mall also houses the Jakarta Aquarium & Safari, one of the city's largest aquariums.
