Chattanooga Market, Chattanooga

Chattanooga Market, Chattanooga

Established in 2001, the Chattanooga Market is the largest producer-only marketplace in the region, providing a dynamic space for local artisans, farmers, and food producers. The market is committed to fostering small business growth, supporting community initiatives, and enhancing Chattanooga’s cultural landscape.

Held every Sunday from April to December at the First Horizon Pavilion, this open-air market welcomes over 300 vendors and draws around 6,000 visitors weekly. Admission is free, making it an accessible and lively gathering place for locals and tourists alike. Every item sold-whether fresh produce, artisan foods, or handcrafted goods-must be handmade, homegrown, or directly created by the seller, ensuring high-quality, unique offerings.

The market is also a stage for community engagement, partnering with organizations such as the Erlanger Foundation, Chattanooga Food Bank, and the Down Syndrome Community of Greater Chattanooga. These partnerships enable fundraising efforts and create meaningful community-driven events.

Beyond shopping, the Chattanooga Market offers weekly themed events, ranging from Bluegrass music days to the highly acclaimed Oktoberfest-recognized by Fox News as one of the Best Family-Friendly Oktoberfests in the U.S. The season wraps up with a festive Holiday Market, ensuring a diverse and ever-changing experience.

Despite its non-profit status, the market operates without local government funding, relying instead on vendor fees, memberships, and sponsorships from supporters like Acura of Chattanooga, Lodge Cast Iron, Coca-Cola United, and the Tennessee Aquarium.

Frommer’s has named the Chattanooga Market among the Top Ten Best Public Markets in America, cementing its role as a must-visit destination for fresh, local, and authentic Chattanooga experiences.
