Chi-Wen Gallery, Taipei
Founded in 2004 by Chi-Wen Huang, Chi-Wen Gallery has emerged as a prominent institution in Taiwan's art scene. The gallery specializes in showcasing the finest contemporary Taiwanese art, with a particular emphasis on video and photography as mediums of expression. Over the past decade, Chi-Wen Gallery has played a pivotal role in nurturing the careers of a diverse array of artists, some of whom have achieved international recognition. These artists, whether emerging talents or established figures, have reshaped the landscape of art creation and presentation in Taiwan. Notable individuals in this roster include Chen Chieh-Jen, Chang Chao-Tang, Chang Li-Ren, Hu Ching-Chuan, Jawshing Arthur Liou, Lin Yu-Sheng, Peng Hung-Chih, Paul Gong, River Lin, Su Misu, and Tusi Kuang-Yu, among others.
In 2020, Chi-Wen Gallery expanded its reach by establishing Chi-Wen Productions during the global pandemic. The gallery's inaugural production, "God-Men: Episode I," released in 2021, featured five artists assuming the role of film directors. Additionally, their recent film project, "Sin Wai Kin, A Dream of Wholeness in Parts (2021)," is currently touring as part of the British Art Show 9 and has earned a nomination for the Turner Prize 2022.
Chi-Wen Gallery maintains an active presence in the art world, participating in prominent local and global art fairs and festivals, such as Art Basel Hong Kong, Frieze Art Fair, and LOOP Barcelona.
