Chiesa di Santa Lucia (Church of Saint Lucia), Alberobello
Church of Saint Lucia is small church, featuring a single nave without a transept and lit by a mixtilinear window on its façade, is located in Piazza Gian Girolamo Acquaviva. It was built to accommodate the Confraternity of the Santissimo Sacramento, founded in 1823 and officially recognized in 1826, which initially held its meetings in the Trullo Sovrano.
The church's construction began on November 30, 1834, prompted by the bishop and the confraternity due to space constraints in the parish, which had been expanded in the 18th century. Renovated in 1856 and dedicated to Saint Lucia, the church underwent several modifications until the late 19th century. In 1904, the church's rector, with authorization from Bishop Antonio Lamberti, received a relic of Saint Lucia from Venice.
