Corporation originated on Bank Street near Castle Market, a site with a rich history. It began as The Cavendish Club in 1967, then became Bailey's Nightclub in 1970, Romeo and Juliet's in 1978, and Cairo Jax in 1985. After Cairo Jax closed in 1997, Corporation took over. The Bank Street venue had two dance floors linked by a main entrance corridor, a skate ramp, video games, and relaxation alcoves.
