Devendorf Park, located in the heart of downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea near the Carmel Plaza Shopping Centre, is a cherished urban oasis at the corner of Ocean Avenue and Junipero Street. This well-maintained park offers lush green spaces, perfect for a relaxing lunch, a nap on the grass, or a stroll. Shaded by majestic live oaks and adorned with colorful flowers, Devendorf Park serves as the city's central gathering place for residents and visitors alike.

The park, donated to the city by J. Frank Devendorf, affectionately known as the "Father of Carmel-by-the-Sea," is a venue for various public gatherings, from plein air painting sessions to Veterans and Memorial Day commemorations. It also hosts cultural and community events such as summer concerts, the annual Halloween Parade, and the beloved Tree Lighting Ceremony with Santa during the holiday season. Public restrooms and a water fountain add to the park's convenience, although pets are not permitted.
