Duden Waterfalls, Antalya
Located in the province of Antalya, the Düden Waterfalls are a captivating group of waterfalls. These magnificent falls, formed by recycled station water, can be found approximately 12 kilometers (7.5 miles) northeast of Antalya. Their journey culminates as the Lower Düden Falls dramatically plunge over a rugged cliff directly into the crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea.
Renowned as a popular tourist attraction near Antalya city center, the Duden Waterfalls form a remarkable and captivating segment of the Duden River. This river meanders for approximately 10 kilometers, originating from the northern region of central Antalya, and eventually converging with the southeastern coastline of the city.
The Düden Waterfalls comprise two distinct cascades: the Upper Düden Waterfalls and the Lower Düden Waterfalls. The Upper Düden Waterfalls are situated 15 kilometers outside the city. These falls have taken shape within a deep gorge that has been carved out by the river. From an elevated viewpoint, visitors can admire the grandeur of the falls, while also exploring the gorge on foot. Additionally, there is an enchanting hidden cave concealed behind the cascading water, offering a unique opportunity for exploration.
On the other hand, the Lower Duden Waterfalls are situated in the suburb of Lara, to the east of the Old Town. The most ideal way to witness the splendor of these falls is by embarking on a gulet cruise from the Port of Kaleici.
Complementing this natural wonder is the nearby Genclik Park, adorned with comfortable benches, offering a serene sanctuary for visitors to leisurely immerse themselves in the idyllic surroundings and relish the enchanting panorama before them.
