Eat Street Northshore, Brisbane (must see)

Eat Street Northshore is a venue that combines food, shopping and entertainment. This unique area is made from 180 repurposed and recycled shipping containers now used as restaurants, eclectic boutiques and outdoor stages for live performances. Located on the north shore of the Brisbane river, it is worth the short trip to see and taste the fun of Eat Street.

There are more than 70 unique businesses operating at Eat Street. These include numerous restaurants, shops and bars. Visitors can try various beers from Asia, gourmet candy apples, Japanese pizza and organic teas among many other offerings from around the globe. After they have eaten all they can, they can shop for unique crafts or make their own candles.

Musical performances take place in one of four spaces every night. The MainDeck is the spot where bands from near and far play each week. The LaneWay Cabaret is the spot to go for jazz. The OpenSky Theatre is a great place for comedy while the WhaleBar hosts more lowkey events. There are also multiple solo artists throughout Eat Street.

Eat Street is open from 4 PM to 10 PM every Friday and Saturday and 4 PM to 9 PM each Sunday. Performance times by artists and musicians vary. Families are welcome and encouraged. The fee to enter Eat Street is $5 AUD for ages 12 and up or $15 AUD for a family of four. Children under the age of 12 are free.
