Edificio Forum (Forum Building), Barcelona

Barcelona is a vibrant city that embraces its outdoor spaces, taking advantage of its history, climate, and the social interactions of its residents. In 2001, a decision was made to design a building that not only stands as an independent structure but also generates and shapes the surrounding open space.

To achieve maximum functionality, flexibility, and spatial interaction, the Forum Building was designed with a horizontal organization. The concept of the elevated flat triangular structure emerged naturally, as it optimizes the building's footprint and creates a vast cover over the plaza, perfectly integrating with the surrounding landscape.

Since its role as the emblematic structure of the contentious 2004 Universal Forum of Cultures, the building has been transformed into the home of Barcelona's Museum of Natural Sciences. As of 2011, it proudly houses the museum's primary permanent exhibition, offering visitors a display of scientific wonders.
