The Italy Building (Edifício Itália) stands tall at a height of 165 meters (541 feet) with 46 stories, situated in the República district of São Paulo's Central Zone. Constructed between 1956 and 1965, this impressive skyscraper features an accessible rooftop observation deck that attracts tourists.
Designed by Brazilian architect Franz Heep, Edifício Itália ranks as the third tallest building in Brazil (and the second tallest in São Paulo), trailing behind Millennium Palace and Mirante do Vale.
The building's façade was meticulously crafted to promote natural ventilation and maintain a comfortable internal atmosphere while shielding occupants from direct sunlight.
On 29th September 1967, the Terraço Itália Restaurant was inaugurated and swiftly became one of the city's most renowned dining establishments. Perched on the 41st floor, it offers expansive vistas of São Paulo's southern zone. Notably, Queen Elizabeth II paid a visit to the restaurant in 1968.
The Bar do Terraço, situated on the 42nd floor, is a vibrant bar with live music. It boasts panoramic views of the city's northern zone and the picturesque Serra da Cantareira. Accessible from the bar is the building's observatory terrace.
Occupying the 41st floor, the Sala São Paulo is a prestigious venue widely recognized for hosting corporate and social events.
