The Mountain King Film City (Filmstaden Bergakungen) is a prominent cinema complex situated in the heart of Gothenburg. Positioned between the well-known Ullevi Arena and Scandinavium Arena, this cineplex serves as a central hub for entertainment in the city. Its origins trace back to the visionary plans of Svensk Filmindustri (SF) during the 1980s, aiming to transform the movie-watching experience while utilizing urban land efficiently.

Featuring 14 cinemas accommodating up to 2,260 visitors, Mountain King Film City is distinguished by housing two of Sweden's largest projection screens, each measuring an impressive 18 meters by 8 meters. These expansive screens promise an immersive viewing experience, complemented by high-quality digital sound systems. Additionally, the Cineplex offers a VIP cinema section with more comfortable seating and access to a nearby lounge and bar, adding a touch of luxury to the cinematic experience.

A notable highlight of the Mountain King Film City is its second IMAX auditorium, the sole one of its kind in Sweden, emphasizing its commitment to delivering exceptional audio-visual quality. The construction of the Mountain King Film City was a strategic endeavor to consolidate multiple cinemas into a single complex within Gothenburg's entertainment district. This approach not only preserved valuable land for alternative purposes but also facilitated the establishment of a multi-cinema adjacent to a city center park. Additionally, the site is complemented by an 18th-century agricultural property, with its historic main building still standing, situated just north of the cinema complex.
