Galleri Ismene, Trondheim

Galleri Ismene, founded in 1982 in Trondheim, is a private gallery showcasing a diverse collection of Norwegian and international visual art. This gallery not only holds regular exhibitions but also stands out for its unique feature: operating eight graphics clubs and producing various editions of graphic prints. This initiative enables art enthusiasts to acquire high-quality graphic art at reasonable prices, making fine art more accessible to a wider audience.

The idea of the graphics club originated from discussions in the 1970s between Ramon Isern and Per Høiem at Galleri Riis, situated in Thomas Angel Gate. They sought innovative ways to promote appreciation for outstanding graphic art. This concept, once conceived, was successfully implemented and became a fundamental aspect of Galleri Ismene when Høiem founded his gallery. Today, the gallery's graphics clubs have thrived, each accommodating a hundred members, significantly contributing to the distribution of top-tier graphic works among art enthusiasts.

Adjacent to Galleri Ismene's exhibition area, visitors can access an art book section and a frame workshop, enriching the gallery's offerings and providing comprehensive services to art collectors and enthusiasts.
