Grand-Duchess Charlotte Statue, Luxembourg

The statue of the Grand-Duchess Charlotte was designed by Parisian sculptor Jean Cardot and officially inaugurated in April, 1990. Charlotte, Grand Duchess of Luxembourg reigned from 1919 to 1964 and was one of the most beloved and admired leaders of the country. Her 2.7 meters statue now stands in the Place Clairefontaine, next to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, outspreading her hand in a peaceful and protective manner towards her beloved nation.
