Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Wilmington

Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church is situated at 9th and Broom Streets. The first Greek immigrants arrived in Wilmington at the turn of the 19th century. To unite the city's Greek communities and associations, it was decided in 1934 to raise funds for construction of a church. The cornerstone was laid in 1948, and the church was completed in three years. The church was built in the Modern Byzantine style and is rectangular in design, with two front towers and a massive golden dome. Holy Trinity hosts an annual Greek festival.
