Ice Skating Rink, Kuwait City

Situated in the heart of Kuwait City, close to the historic Shamiya Gate, the TEC Ice Skating Rink is a unique recreational oasis in the middle of a desert landscape. This remarkable facility holds the distinction of being the first ice skating rink in the Gulf region and the Middle East, offering a one-of-a-kind experience for both locals and tourists.

The Ice Skating Rink was established in 1980 and has historical significance as it underwent a complete renovation after sustaining significant damage during the Iraqi invasion in 1990. This restoration not only breathed new life into the rink but also solidified its status as a prominent leisure destination in Kuwait.

Within the complex, there are two primary rinks. The Olympic-size Rink, spanning an impressive 1,800 square meters, can accommodate over 1,600 spectators and includes a VIP balcony, making it well-suited for large events and professional training. On the other hand, the Smaller Rink covers 800 square meters, providing a more intimate setting for up to 600 spectators, making it perfect for casual skaters and smaller gatherings.

Both rinks utilize an advanced mechanical freezing system, ensuring the water remains frozen beneath the surface, thus offering a consistent and high-quality skating experience, regardless of external temperatures.

The Ice Skating Rink is not just a skating venue but also a one-stop facility. It offers training courses for all skill levels, equipment rentals and sales, a shoe changing area, first aid services, and a café for a complete day of fun and sports.
