Image City Photography Gallery, Rochester

Located in Rochester’s lively Neighborhood of the Arts, Image City Photography Gallery is a welcoming space dedicated to showcasing the creative work of photographers from near and far. True to its name-and Rochester’s legacy as the “Photo Capital of the World”-the gallery celebrates the power of the image across a wide range of styles, themes, and techniques. With 13 thoughtfully curated exhibitions throughout the year, it offers both seasoned artists and emerging talents a platform to share their perspectives, while inviting the public to discover the beauty and diversity of fine art photography.

The gallery operates as a collaborative venture among partners and artists-in-residence who not only exhibit their work but also champion that of others. From striking landscapes and evocative portraits to experimental compositions, the work on display spans a broad visual and emotional spectrum. This month, featured artist Dick Bennett presents a photographic “travelogue” of Europe from 1971–1972, drawn from digitized Ektachrome slides taken during his time as a student in Vienna. Additional exhibitions include Michelle Turner’s images of Easter Island, displayed in the Neuberger Gallery, alongside works by Chip Evra, Clay Gehring, Susan Kaye, Michael Lempert, and Bob Simon.

More than just a gallery, Image City serves as a community hub for learning, dialogue, and artistic growth. Whether you're looking to exhibit, explore, or purchase fine art for your home or office, the gallery invites you to engage with photography in a meaningful way-within a space that values creativity, inclusivity, and artistic excellence.
