IMAG History & Science Center, Fort Myers (must see)
The IMAG History & Science Center, formerly known as the Imaginarium Science Center, is an interactive museum and aquarium. This is a great spot to stop on a visit to Ft. Myers for tourists of any age.
IMAG offers many different exhibits that engage visitors while teaching them about nature and history. Tourists can use augmented reality to see history Ft. Myers and learn what the area looked like when early settlers stopped in the region. Tourists can also go below the sea using AR to take a virtual dive to see the sunken USS Mohawk.
Visitors to the IMAG can interact with sea life if they wish. A stingray feeding tank lets guests feed the rays from the palm of their hands. A touch tank lets guests have the unique opportunity to pet a horseshoe crab, sea star or an urchin.
There are many other exhibits at IMAG that awaken the imagination in all who visit. The science center offers lessons and experiments in nature, weather, boating and the importance of clean water.
The science center is open from 10 AM to 5 PM Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 5 PM each Sunday. It is closed on Mondays.
