Lenin Memorial House, Kazan (must see)

Opened in 1937 in the house where the Ulyanovs had lived from 1888 to 1889, the Lenin Memorial House is one of Kazan’s oldest museums and a typical example of a wooden mansion of the late 19th century. Much of its interior and exterior has been renovated, though its amazing garden retains its original beauty. Located in the city’s historic central district, the museum hosts exhibitions and events dedicated to life of Lenin during his first political exile, including photographs, documentary material and books.
