Lettuce Lake Park, Tampa (must see)

Lettuce Lake Park in Tampa is one of Hillsborough County's most popular conservation parks. The Hillsborough River helps contribute to the park's unique habitat, which includes a hardwood swamp forest. Pine Flatwoods and hardwood hammocks make up much of the park's terrain. You will have a new appreciation for the unique scenery after visiting this area.

There are picnic areas and playgrounds that make the park perfect for all ages. Park rangers and volunteers host educational events that you won't want to miss if visiting on the weekends. An observation tower gives you views of the river and its wildlife that you won't forget.

An exercise trail measuring 1.25 miles is paved to give you as easy a walk as possible. The boardwalk leading up to the observation tower spans 3,500 feet. You can rent a canoe or kayak to enjoy the local birds and aquatic wildlife up close.
