Magic Island, Honolulu

Magic Island is a small, artificially created piece of land that came into existence in 1964, initially intended as the site for a resort complex. However, it underwent a transformation and was repurposed as a park. Although its name was officially changed to "Aina Moana," this new name isn't commonly used.

This park on Magic Island is a popular destination where people come together for activities like picnics, playing frisbee, socializing, and occasionally, there are festivals or drama performances. Due to the park's previous appeal to homeless individuals, there is now a ban on overnight camping within its premises.

Annually, on the Fourth of July, the Ala Moana Center organizes a fireworks display over Magic Island, attracting a large number of spectators to the neighboring parks. Simultaneously, the Ala Moana Center sets aside a portion of its parking lot for a Fourth of July concert, featuring several local bands.

The park is open daily from sunrise to sunset.
