Mall at Millenia, Orlando
The Mall at Millenia, often referred to as The Millenia Mall or simply Millenia, is a covered shopping center in Orlando. It opened in 2002 and houses over 150 shops. Key attractions include Macy's, Bloomingdale's, and Neiman Marcus.
This mall is a prominent high-end shopping hub in the Orlando region, drawing in shoppers, especially those seeking luxury brands, from various places including Europe, Brazil, China, and Russia.
The Macy's at this mall was the first to open in Central Florida. It's also among a select few Macy's stores in Florida that existed before the brand merged with Burdines. The mall's Bloomingdale's and Neiman Marcus are unique to the region; they're the only ones you'll find in Orlando.
Owned by The Forbes Company, which also holds The Gardens Mall and the larger Somerset Collection in Troy, Michigan, the Mall at Millenia was modeled after the Somerset Collection. Both malls, designed by JPRA Architects, are known for their exceptional design, including award-winning lighting from Paul Gregory of Focus Lighting, transparent elevators, and water features. Interestingly, neither has any kiosks.
Initially, the area around the mall didn't have much else. However, within five years, it transformed and is now popularly known as "Millenia." This zone, especially the mall, has become a key attraction for both businesses and tourists. The vicinity now boasts various residential options like apartments, condos, single-family houses, and even corporate offices.
