Martyr Memorial Park, Xian

The Martyr's Memorial Park, located in Shijiazhuang city within the northern Chinese province of Hebei, is a renowned tourist destination. The park is divided into different sections, each dedicated to significant historical figures and events. On the northern and southern sides of the park, you'll find memorials honoring veterans of the Korean and Japanese wars, respectively. The western section pays tribute to Dr. Norman Bethune, who played a crucial role in supporting the Chinese during their struggles. Additionally, the southern part of the park is dedicated to Dr. Kotnis, featuring a prominent statue in his honor.

The museum houses a vocabulary handbook written by Kotnis during his journey from India to China, medical instruments used by the surgeons in their life-saving efforts, and a collection of photographs, some of which depict the doctors alongside influential figures from the Communist Party of China, including Mao Zedong.

The park itself features a spacious and picturesque central alley that leads to a quaint plaza and a charming green semi-circle. It serves as a gathering place for both locals and tourists.
