Messeturm (Trade Fair Tower), Basel

The Basler Messeturm, or Basel Trade Fair Tower, is an iconic high-rise in Basel. Standing at 105 meters (344 feet) with 31 floors, it is among the tallest buildings in Switzerland and dominates the city’s skyline. Its green-tinted glass and metal façade make it a striking architectural landmark, visible not only from across Basel but also from neighboring France and Germany.

Completed in 2003, the Messeturm was designed by renowned architects Morger, Degelo, and Marques. This mixed-use building houses the Hyperion Hotel—a four-star establishment occupying the 5th to 14th floors, offering 230 modern rooms tailored for trade fair visitors. The tower also features premium office spaces, conference facilities, and art exhibitions, catering to businesses seeking dynamic and sustainable work environments.

One of the highlights of the Messeturm is BarRouge, located on the top floor, offering breathtaking panoramic views of Basel and its surroundings. The building’s vertical ecosystem includes amenities such as a fitness center, spa, fine dining options, and eco-friendly innovations introduced during a recent modernization.

Strategically positioned at Messeplatz, the Messeturm is easily accessible by public and private transport, making it a hub for trade fair participants, tourists, and professionals alike. Combining functionality, sustainability, and architectural brilliance, it continues to stand as a symbol of modern Basel.
