Miniaturk, Istanbul (must see)

There is nothing small about the Miniaturk miniature park. This 650,000 square foot park is one of the world's largest miniature parks. It contains 135 models of buildings from around Turkey. Visitors can walk among these models to experience a tour from the country's past and present in a unique manner.

The models at Miniaturk include both current and historic buildings and monuments. Visitors will see the "Works of Istanbul," which includes the Taksim Republic Monument, the Hagia Eirene Church and the Tomb of Sultan Ahmed the 1st among its many models.

Within the "Works of Anatolia," some of the models are Pamukkale, the Alaeddin Mosque in Nigde and the Stone Bridge of Adana. "Works from Overseas" includes Jerusalem's Dome of the Rock, Thessaloniki's Ataturk House and Museum, the Mostar Bridge in Mostar and the Ajyad Fortress in Mecca.

Along with model buildings, Miniaturk offers an outdoor playground, a ferry, a sightseeing train, restaurants and an exhibit hall.
