Miniworld Rotterdam, Rotterdam

Miniworld Rotterdam, Rotterdam

Miniworld Rotterdam stands as the premier indoor miniature realm in the Netherlands, encompassing a provisional expanse of 600 square meters, meticulously crafted at a scale of 1:87 (H0). Initially recognized as Railz Miniworld, the attraction underwent a rebranding on April 27, 2012.

The genesis of Miniworld took shape in April 2006, culminating in its inauguration on March 30, 2007. This enduring exhibition of model railways showcases an array of meticulous model craftsmanship, spanning from intricate landscape design to detailed model construction.

Operating on its distinct temporal rhythm, Miniworld Rotterdam experiences days that are notably abbreviated compared to the external world, lasting a mere 24 minutes. This temporal peculiarity engenders a transformative spectacle each day as daylight yields to a starlit expanse, aglow with thousands of twinkling lights. The subsequent four-minute interval sees the world reawaken, setting everything into motion once again. Accompanied by a gentle auditory cue, the impending onset of darkness is heralded to prevent any undue startle. Furthermore, just prior to and following this simulated "night," the space is bathed in a reddish hue, simulating the hues of sunset and sunrise.
