Modern Art Museum, Kuwait City

The Museum of Modern Art in Kuwait City stands as a significant cultural institution, melding the rich history of the region with contemporary artistic expression. Originally constructed in 1939, this historic building initially served as the Eastern School (Madrasa Al Sharqiya), educating many notable Kuwaitis, including Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad, the current Emir. Additionally, the museum showcases a watercolor by Zahra Marwan depicting a young Mohammed creating his first sculpture in 1952 and a photograph from the 1970s showing Sami Mohammed in conversation with artist Andy Warhol during his visit to Kuwait.
