Morocco Mall, Casablanca (must see)
Morocco Mall, located in Casablanca, is the largest shopping mall in Africa with an extensive 590,000 square meters of floor space. It was officially opened on December 1, 2011. The mall's architectural design was the brainchild of Davide Padoa, CEO and principal architect at Design International, a prestigious architecture firm based in London.
This grand shopping destination, situated along the scenic Casablanca Corniche on the Atlantic Ocean, spans over 10 hectares and includes 250,000 square meters of construction. The mall features 30,000 square meters of outdoor space and 14,000 square meters of beautifully landscaped gardens. The commercial space is spread across three levels, and houses 350 stores. These stores represent 600 brands, many of which, like Galeries Lafayette, FNAC, and an IMAX cinema, marked their first ventures into the African market at this location.
One of the standout attractions of Morocco Mall is the "Aquadream" aquarium, a 1,000,000-liter facility that houses over 40 different species of fish. Designed and built by International Concept Management (ICM), the aquarium offers unique experiences such as a cylindrical ride through the middle for a 360-degree view of marine life and the opportunity for visitors to go scuba diving with professional instructors.
Managed by Groupe Aksal, a Moroccan company, Morocco Mall is not only a shopping center but a significant cultural and entertainment hub in the Mediterranean and Africa, showcasing the latest in global retail and architectural design.

Casablanca Old Town Walking Tour
Although the Old Town (Medina) of Casablanca is not as ancient as that of the imperial cities like Fez or Marrakech, it is well worth seeing all the same. The historic heart of the city, rather modest in size – measuring some 50 hectares, is made up of three parts: the Medina proper; the Jewish quarter, or Mellah, with the Ettedgui Synagogue in it; and the popular quarter called Tnaker.
