Museo de Historia Natural (Museum of Natural History), Asuncion
Museum of Natural History is surrounded by a small zoo, golf course, and camping area. The museum displays a variety of animal specimens and is especially known for its collection of insects, including a rare butterfly with a 274 mm wing. The museum was once the country home of the former president of Paraguay, Carlos Antonio López. In addition to its historical importance, the house is representative of architectural design in the 1840s. From downtown Asuncion, take the 44-B bus from Oliva and 15 de Agosto Streets. This bus goes right by the entrance to the museum.
