Museo de los Ninos, San Jose

Children's Museum (Museo de los Ninos), located inside the Costa Rican Center for Science and Culture in San Jose, is a perfect destination for families looking to enjoy science and culture together. The museum occupies a historic building that once served as a prison in the early 1990s. However, after extensive renovation and restoration, the building now houses one of the most playful and interactive museums in the city.

The Children's Museum shares the space with two other emblematic buildings, the National Auditorium Theater and the National Gallery, making it possible to visit three must-see attractions in one location. However, it is the Children's Museum that attracts the most visitors, thanks to its more than 3,000 square meters of exhibitions and endless activities.

The museum offers a diverse range of exhibitions that are both educational and entertaining. The Human Being, Physical Sciences, and Universe rooms are particularly noteworthy, as they allow visitors to explore science and culture in a fun and engaging way. The interactive exhibits are designed to encourage children to think and ask questions, helping them to develop their curiosity and love for learning.

In addition to its exhibitions, the Children's Museum also offers a range of services and activities to enhance the visitor experience. Guided tours are available for those who want to learn more about the museum's collections, while the onsite cafeterias provide a range of refreshments for hungry visitors. The museum also hosts dynamic events, such as children's parties and educational workshops, providing opportunities for families to learn and play together.
