The Ibero-American Puppet Museum 1 is a municipal space dedicated to the culture and history of the puppet, installed in the Puerta de Tierra Vaults in the Bay of Cádiz and inaugurated on August 9, 2012.

It occupies about one thousand five hundred meters, spread over two floors and distributed among the eighteen recovered vaults.

On the outside, the old Patio de Tropa has been transformed into a landscaped space with areas reserved for the representation of puppets and to provide a framework for some activities of the City of Cádiz International Puppet Festival.

Since May 19, 2013, the museum has a permanent exhibition of Puppets of the world; in addition to the collection of puppets from La Tía Norica, with more than two hundred years old. This collection brings together some five hundred elements, including puppets, forillos and props related to puppetry.

It is working to incorporate the puppets and funds from the La Tía Norica company, a puppet theater more than two centuries old that was awarded the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts and its artisan ensemble declared an Asset of Cultural Interest by the Junta de Andalucía.
