Museo Mario Testino, Lima

The Mario Testino Museum, also known as MATE (pronounced mAH-teh), is a non-profit organization established by Peruvian fashion photographer Mario Testino in 2012. Its primary mission is to serve as a platform for nurturing creative industries, providing a window to showcase international contemporary art in Lima, and promoting Peruvian talent on a global scale. MATE hosts exhibitions featuring contemporary artists alongside a permanent collection of Mario Testino's photographic work.

The overarching vision of MATE is to cultivate a dynamic environment that fosters individual expression, celebrates Peru's contributions to the global art and culture scene, and drives the growth of the creative industry within the country. This non-profit organization is committed to supporting and advancing the local creative sector, with all proceeds generated being directed towards educational and cultural initiatives aimed at promoting and developing the arts.

The museum's permanent collection is divided into eight thematic rooms, each highlighting distinctive elements of Testino's photography. These elements include the intricate choreography evident in his group photographs and his remarkable ability to traverse and capture diverse cultures worldwide, striking a harmonious balance between tradition and creativity. Over the years, Mario Testino's lens has captured renowned models like Kate Moss, Gisele Bündchen, Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Cara Delevingne, and Karlie Kloss, as well as artists including Blake Lively, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, and many others.
