Museu Faller de Valencia, Valencia
Since 1971, the Fallero Museum (Museu Faller) in Valencian has been housed in the former convent of the mission house of San Vicente de Paül, a structure dating back to 1831. This historical building, with its corridors and old cells, has witnessed various purposes over the years, serving as a prison, barracks, and warehouse. In the early 1990s, the Fallero Museum underwent a significant renovation and restructuring, culminating in its reopening in 1995. In 2016, it was officially recognized as a Museum of the Generalitat Valenciana, prompting further museological and museographic enhancements. Notably, the museum introduced the "Josep Alarte" temporary exhibition hall, showcasing anthological displays of Fallas artists' works.
Initially, the fallas were primarily constructed by residents, occasionally aided by professionals such as carpenters, painters, and decorators. However, as the art of fallas evolved, dedicated Fallas artists emerged. These skilled artisans specialized in designing and constructing fallas, establishing their workshops, techniques, and unique styles. A competitive spirit took hold as they vied for prestigious prizes and sought to create exceptional pardoned ninots. Eventually, these artists organized themselves into the Association of Falleros Artists and later into the Artisan Guild of Fallas Artists.
