Nabi Saeen Mosque, Nazareth
The Nabi Saeen Mosque is situated atop Nabi Saeen Hill, reaching an elevation of 487 meters (1,598 ft) above sea level. Positioned on the ridge that encloses the city from the north, the mosque is approximately 150 meters north of the Salesian Basilica of Jesus the Adolescent. Offering a commanding view of Nazareth, the Jezreel Valley to the south, and the Upper Galilee and Haifa outskirts (Krayot) to the north and west, Nabi Saeen Mosque stands as a significant landmark in the region.
Architecturally, the Nabi Saeen Mosque is a two-story structure shaped like a trapezoid, measuring 20 meters in both length and width at its base. The mosque's design incorporates an octagonal minaret balcony near the northern front, featuring four windows surrounding a high tower with a spire in a distinct gray hue. The front of the second floor is painted in bright green and exhibits the form of five arches over windows, each adorned with a small circular window. Similar styled windows encompass the second floor on all sides. The facade is divided into seven sections, including pairs of narrow green-painted columns on the first floor.
