National Bank of Uzbekistan, Tashkent

The National Bank of Uzbekistan (NBU) stands as a striking example of modern architecture in Tashkent. Built in 1997, it remains the tallest building in Uzbekistan, with an impressive height of 108 meters and 26 floors. This postmodern skyscraper dominates the city's newer districts, boasting a curtain wall and glass facade that exudes contemporary sophistication.

Located within the ITEC Complex, the NBU General Directorate spans a construction area of 30,000 square meters. Designed as a multifunctional space, the building houses banking and office areas alongside a variety of facilities. These include a 150-seat conference hall, a 250-seat restaurant, meeting rooms, a winter garden, a private meeting room, an art gallery, and a fitness center. The structure also accommodates essential technical and administrative units, demonstrating its functional versatility.

The NBU building holds the distinction of being the tallest monolithic reinforced concrete structure in Tashkent, a remarkable achievement given its location in an active earthquake zone. The project was delivered on a turnkey basis, encompassing everything from architectural design to interior decorations and movable furnishings, ensuring timely and comprehensive completion.

Established by a decree of Uzbekistan's first President, Islam Karimov, in September 1991, the National Bank of Uzbekistan plays a key role in the country's economic development. Its General Directorate is not only a functional hub for banking activities but also a symbol of progress and resilience, blending modern design with advanced engineering.
