Nelson's Green Brier Distillery, Nashville

Nelson's Green Brier Distillery, Nashville

Nelson's Green Brier Distillery, situated in Greenbrier, Robertson County, Tennessee, was a notable distillery that operated during the period leading up to Prohibition. It was originally owned by the businessman Charles Nelson and later by his widow from 1870 to 1909. This historical brand was reintroduced to the market by Charles Nelson's great-great-great grandsons in 2011, with a focus on Tennessee whiskey and other spirits. They officially began distillery operations in Nashville in 2014.

The significance of this distillery was acknowledged when it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2008. Its inclusion on this list is attributed to its role in the historical development of the industry and commerce within the state of Tennessee.

On November 23, 2014, the new Nelson's Green Brier Distillery opened its doors in Nashville. During tours of the facility, visitors have the opportunity to learn about the history behind the Nelson's Green Brier brand and its previous distillery. These tours typically include tastings and a visit to the production floor.
