Austrian Beer. There are a number of breweries within Vienna, such as Ottakringer, where beer fans can try and buy beer made with traditional local methods. The brewery is located on their very own Ottakringer Strasse, which is southwest of the centre, reachable with local transport such as bus and metro. They claim to produce 'the original Vienna beer'. A light beer, it is said to have a particular kind of scent which eases a weary soul. Composed from the best hops and malt, using the best spring water, theirs is a classic beer of quality. The pricing system at Ottakringer is quite complicated. You can buy a 16 pack of half litre bottles of helles or 'light' beer for 15€. Otherwise you can buy what is called a 'dose', 0.33litre, for 0.59c. A tray of 6 of these costs 3.54€ or 24 of these costs 14.16€. A larger dose or half litre costs 0.67c, and a tray of 24 of these costs 16.08€.
