Petco Park, San Diego
Petco Park, situated in Downtown San Diego, is a renowned baseball stadium. It proudly serves as the home stadium for the San Diego Padres, a Major League Baseball team. In addition to baseball, Petco Park has hosted a wide array of events including concerts, soccer matches, golf tournaments, football games, and rugby matches.
Positioned between Seventh and 10th Avenues, south of J Street, the park made its debut in 2004, taking over the role of the Padres' home stadium from Qualcomm Stadium. On the southern side, the stadium is bordered by the San Diego Trolley light rail tracks, running alongside the north side of Harbor Drive, which conveniently connects to the nearby San Diego Convention Center. A section of K Street, spanning from Seventh to 10th Avenues, has been closed off to vehicular traffic and transformed into a delightful pedestrian promenade. This area stretches behind the left and center field outfield seating, offering access to the charming "Park at the Park" located behind the center field.
Visitors can enter the stadium from two outfield entrance areas, found at the intersections of K Street with Seventh and 10th Avenues. The primary entrance, located behind the home plate, resides at the southern terminus of Park Boulevard, precisely at Imperial Street. It faces the 12th & Imperial Transit Center of the San Diego Trolley, providing convenient transportation options for fans. Moreover, Petco Park is conveniently situated approximately one mile (1.6 kilometers) away from the Santa Fe Depot station, which serves Amtrak and Coaster services.
