Plaza de Toros, Santa Cruz de Tenerife

Plaza de Toros (the Bullring) is located northwest of the center of Santa Cruz, and is adjacent to Rambla General Franco Street. Initially the bullring was constructed in 1893 under the project of Antonio Pintor. It was destroyed in the fire of 1924. Plaza de Toros reopened in 1927 and served until 1983. Its circular structure features horse shoe arches and battlements. Later it served as a venue for the city’s cultural events, as well as for the carnival.
