Plaza Rio, Tijuana

Plaza Río Tijuana is an open-air shopping center. It opened in 1981 as the city's first major American-style mall, shifting the primary shopping area from Downtown Tijuana. The mall features anchor stores Soriana, Sears, and Cinépolis. It previously housed a Dorian's department store, which became Sears in 2009, and Comercial Mexicana, which was replaced by Soriana in 2018. Plaza Río Tijuana boasts over 133 brand-name stores.
