Praia do Magoito, Sintra

Praia do Magoito, also known as Pedregal is a coastal bathing water belonging to the coast of Sintra, in the district of Lisbon. It is part of the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park , with several natural points of interest. It is a type 3 beach, equipped and with conditioned use, considered to have a dangerous sea. It has a 300 m beachfront of reduced width, normally submerged by high tide and rich in iodine. Flanked by large cliffs, the road access is via the Estrada de Santa Marta, along which there are parking spaces. Access to the beach can be done by a staircase to the east of the beach or, alternatively, by the ramped wooden walkway that guarantees accessibility for people with reduced mobility and that follows the Ribeira da Mata valley.

Every year, on Good Friday , the beach is filled with dozens of people who dedicate themselves to mussel picking.
