Puente Gomez (Gomez Bridge), Girona
Puente Gomez (Gomez Bridge) is a river bridge in the municipality of Girona that is part of the Architectural Heritage Inventory of Catalonia.
The bridge crosses the Onyar river linking the Sant Feliu rise, through a passage under a building, Casa Miquel Gómez, with the Plaça de Sant Agustí. It is formed by a single arch and presents considerable slenderness, since it uses the possibilities of reinforced concrete to the limit. The iron railing is very simple, which contributes to giving the construction an air of lightness.
It replaces the wooden one built in 1852. The plans date from 1914 and the construction is a year later.
