Reef Island, Manama
Reef Island is a stunning artificial island located in the archipelago of Bahrain, approximately 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) north of downtown Manama on Bahrain Island. The island is a testament to the vision of Lulu Island Development, a group that proposed a housing project in Bahrain in the year 2000.
Construction on Reef Island began in August 2004. The island was designed by Spowers and Pentago and is now home to a range of luxurious buildings and amenities that make it a highly sought-after residential destination.
The housing project on Reef Island is made up of a collection of magnificent buildings, including a five-star hotel resort, waterfront apartments, a yacht club, boutique retail outlets, villas, a spa hotel, lagoon apartments, a thirty-floor apartment tower, marine retail outlets, and theater/exhibition halls. All of these buildings have been developed in a beautifully landscaped garden setting that is unique to Bahrain.
Reef Island is accessible to yachts up to 110 meters in length, and a number of beaches add to the relaxed lifestyle that is inherent on the island. The major housing project on the island is called Le-Reef, but there are also several other significant developments such as Marina Reef and Venice Reef.
