Rockford Tower, Wilmington

The tower in Rockford Park is a popular attraction. The tower stands on a hill and is the focal point of the park. This historic, 115-foot-tall stone water tower was built more than a century ago. Visitors can climb the steep staircase to reach the observation deck and enjoy views of the scenic Brandywine Valley and the city of Wilmington. The tower features a large sun-dial on its south side. It was reopened to the public in 2002. The tower is open May through the end of October on weekends from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
