Santa Barbara Maritime Museum, Santa Barbara (must see)

The Santa Barbara Maritime Museum has exhibits and activities that are perfect educational opportunities for all ages. An Outdoors Santa Barbara Visitor Center offers the ideal introduction to the museum. The fourth floor has a mosaic floor depicting the Channel Islands and Marine Sanctuary.

The mosaic also depicts the legend associated with the Rainbow Bridge and native flower species. There is also a mural depicting an underwater kelp forest. Interpretive displays about the kelp forest and islands are a feature on the outdoor deck.

One of the places that is very popular in the museum is The Museum Store, which has an impressive gift collection. There are also plenty of treats for any boat-lovers in your life.

The Munger Theater runs regular films about undersea exploration and marine life. People of all ages will find something to enjoy with these offerings. Exhibits at this museum have included maritime art and ships' models. New displays are available regularly.
