Santa Fe Children's Museum, Santa Fe

Santa Fe Children's Museum, Santa Fe

Named one of the country's 10 best museums by USA Today, the Children's Museum offers both indoor and outdoor activities for kids up to 9 years of age. Specializing in hands-on interactive exhibits that promote play and imagination, the facility also offers a variety of weekly programs and frequent special events.

In true New Mexico style, pint-size looms give kids a chance to learn weaving—because who doesn't want their toddler to be a textile artisan? Other, more globally appealing attractions, include a giant soap-bubble pool for those aspiring bubbleologists, face painting to unleash their inner Picasso, fun-house mirrors for a good laugh, and a dazzling collection of bugs to ensure plenty of "ewws" and "ahhs".

The extensive outdoor gardens provide a lush, enclosed landscape to explore, ensuring the little ones can burn off energy while parents catch their breath. And the best part? Admission is free on Thursdays after 4 PM.
